Falling in love isn’t what people make it out to be. It isn’t all about beauty- sure, sometimes it’s filled with butterflies in your stomach and sweet smiles that make your heart do flips and chills from the way he touches you and his lips on your neck, making you wonder how you ever lived without him before.
But mostly, love is ugly. Love is tripping over your words with nervousness, going out of your way to impress each other, standing up a little straighter in his presence. Love is waking up early to apply your makeup after a night spent together, eating a salad even though you really want spaghetti, opening up old scars and letting them bleed again, just so he knows where they came from in the first place.
Love will drive you completely out of your mind and make you do cringe-worthy things and in the end, you’ll take a look back and realize you’re not the same person who went on that very first date and blushed when he held your hand under the table.
